Krunal Gohil

My name is Krunalkumar and I have done a Bachelor in Visual Arts (Painting) from Gujarat, India. I also completed my masters in Printmaking from faculty of fine arts Baroda, Gujarat, India. Currently I am pursuing Masters in Fine Arts at the University of Ulster

My art practice should be understood in the context of my life experience. Since childhood, the wildlife and domestic animals of birthplace (Angadh) have always been my deepest passion, my driving force to remain to be connected to nature. I believe nature can be beautifully depicted in art. This has greatly motivated me to pursue art. I see animals with personalities and character and the similarities between them and humans. This background formed the foundation of my view of art in general and encapsulates the essence of what I try to convey in my visuals. For me, animals are 'Pure characters' with no overlapping complex emotions; this purity is key to create characters with narratives. Fauna not only acts as a metaphorical element but also as a psychological perspective to convey my narration within the work. Through my art, I also reinterpret natural processes, generate awareness about environmental problems, restoring damaged ecosystems, and convey the power and beauty of nature and wildlife. The purpose of my work is to investigate the symbiotic relationship of flora and fauna and its relationship to human psychology.
